Coaticook, Quebec - Carmelle P. (Cote) Bessette, 85, formerly of Manchester, passed away on Nov. 30, 2014, in Coaticook.She was born in Martinville, Canada, on Feb. 5, 1929, the daughter of Camille and Emilia (Gaulin) Cote and lived in Manchester from 1960 until moving back to Canada in 1990. She had worked as a seamstress for more than 20 years with Standard Uniform. She loved to knit, especially slippers and blankets for her family. She was the widow of Romain Bessette, who died in 2011.Family members include three sons, Rene Bessette and his wife, Claudette, of Candia, Fernand Bessette and his wife, Julie, of Colebrook, and Marc Bessette and his wife, Diane, of Manchester; five daughters, Gaetane Morton of Colebrook, Martine Goulet, Carmen Pouliot and her husband, J.C., Mariette Tremblay and her husband, Alain, and Raymonde LaChance and her husband, William, all of Manchester; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; and many nephews, nieces and cousins..
SERVICES: Calling hours will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Parish of the Transfiguration.
