A.C. William Thomas Bass, son of W.S. and Mrs. Thomas Baymer Bass of 827 East Fourth Street, Crowley, La., has just been transferred to the Stuttgart Army Air Field at Stuttgart, Arkansas, where he will undergo the last phase of flight training prior to receiving his wings as a combat pilot.

Funeral services will be held at a 2 p.m. Requiem Eucharist Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension for William Thomas Bass, 69, retired alumni director and varsity golf coach at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, who died at his home Thursday at 9:30 p.m.
The Rev. William D. Kellner, rector, of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
Mr. Bass was a native of Crossett, Ark., the son of the late William Samuel Bass and the former Mary Eleanor Brymer. He had been a Lafayette resident since 1941. During World War II he served n the European Theater of Operations with the Army Air Corps and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Bass became alumni director at USL in 1965, the first full time professional alumni director at USL. While he was alumni director, he also coached the USL Golf team for seven years. In his seven years he produced five conference championship teams and was twice named coach of the year n the conference. After his retirement?
