      John Mitchell Barnes

      John Mitchell Barnes, 38, of Fort Myers, died this morning after a lingering illness. His body was removed to the chapel of the Lawrence A. Powell Funeral Home. Mr. Barnes had been a resident of this city for eight years. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Barnes; his wife, two daughters, Willie Clara and Lois Elizabeth, all of Bonita Springs, and three brothers, J. T. Jr. and H. S. Barnes of Bonita Springs, and H. T. Barnes of Naples. Two sisters, Mrs. O. C. Bozeman of Greenville, Florida and Mrs. G. W. Randolph of Bonita Springs also survive. Mr. Barnes was a member of the American Legion, having served overseas during the World War, and also was a member of Tropical Lodge, #50 F&AM. Both the Legion and the Masons will assist in the services, the Masonic Lodge having charge of the ceremonies at the cemetery. The Rev. F. A. Shore will officiate. Pallbearers will be James A. Tutt, Fred C. Durre, Claude M. Storter, Fred E. Roberts, DeWitt T. Farabee and Nick Armeda.
