Trip To Virginia Follows Wedding
SPRING HOPE ? In a ceremony Saturday at the First Baptist Church Miss Margaret Anne Morgan became the bride of Roderick Sidney Bass. The couple are taking a weeding trip to the Virginia coast.
They will reside in Cumberland, Md., for three months while the bridegroom is employed as a laboratory technician. In the fall they will make their home in Raleigh.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Everett Morgan, is a senior at Meredith College.
The bridegroom?s parents are Mrs. Melvin V. Whitston of Tampa, Fla., and Wesley Roderick Bass of Momeyer. He is a senior at State College.
The Rev. Morris Hollifield of Momeyer officiated at the ceremony and music was presented by Mrs. Gather Lassiter, organist, and Miss Becky Sawyer, vocalist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of satin designed with a bateau neckline and sleeves or rosepoint lace with a full skirt ending in a chapel train. Her veil of candlelight to a coronet of pearls woven into sivler in a flower design. She carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias, white orchids and ivy.
Mrs. A.G. Glover of Elm City, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Helen Parker of Monroe was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Agnes Conner of Rich Square and Miss Corinne Caudle of Albemarle. They wore gowns of pink chiffon and carried bouquets of white flowers.
The bridegroom?s father was bestman and ushers were A.G. Glover of Elm City, Paul bass, uncle of the bridegroom, and Donald Parker of Momeyer, Bill Whitston of Tampa, Emerson Glenn of Durham an Charles Whitehurst of Ayden.
The bride?s parents and sister entertained at a reception in the church parlor.
