      Madge Gregory Marries In Afternoon Ceremony

      The marriage of Miss Margaret (Madge) Urquhart Gregory and Edwin Warner Bass was solemnized at 4:30 p.m. yesterday in Christ Episcopal Church. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Edgar Ralph Neff and the late John Tillery Gregory and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Orin Bass of Nashville, Tenn.
      Rev. Rufus Womble performed the ceremony before the altar decorated with white flowers, woodwardia fern trees and white cathedral candles. Glen Metcalk, organist, and the church choir presented the nuptial music.
      The bride, given in marriage by her brothers, John Tillery Gregory, wore an heirloom dress of ivory satin, moire and rosepoint lace which had been worn by her grandmother and her mother. It had a basque style bodice and skirt with panniered sides with a cathedral-length train. Her veil also was cathedral length with a face vile. She carried an ivory Book of Common Prayer, also carried by her mother at her wedding.
      Miss Susan Richardson Bass, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Mrs. John Tillery Gregory was matron of honor. Miss Alice Ragland and Miss Betty Ragland of Raleigh, N.C., were junior bridesmaids. Miss Mary Peirce Conner, miss Carol Ann Peters, Mrs. Harper Cooper, Mrs. James Romine, miss Mary Kay Stevenson of Stuttgart, Mrs. William McMinn of Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs. Louie Allred of Kansas City, Mo., were bridesmaids.
      James Orin Bas Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., brother of the groom, served as best man. Francis Marion Bass of Nashville, another brother of the groom; John W> Clay Jr., Edward E. Jurrey III, Hayes A. Nol Jr. and Evans M. Clements Jr. of Nashville, Howard F. Johnston and William Ross Sullivan of Knoxville, Tenn., and William Edward Applegate of Charleston, S.C., were groomsmen.
      A reception was given at the Country Club of Little Rock following the ceremony. Assisting were Mrs. George Cook, Mrs. John Thomason, Miss Carol Rather, Miss L?Moore Alford, Mrs. Ross Fordyce and Mrs. Thomas Schallhorn, Miss Barbie Walker and Miss Gwen Flucht were in charge of the bride?s book. Cindy Barker and Susan Barker distributed rice baskets.
