Hilliard R. Bass
BASS, Mr. Hilliard R., of 500 78th H?way east, passed away Wednesday A.M. in a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Neal Bass; 1 daughter, Miss Sarah Ann Bass; 1 brother, W.C. bass of Homestead, Fla., 4 sisters, Mrs. Kate Lingo of Clay, Ala., Mrs. Mary Parker of Chicago, Mrs. Ruby Herring and Mrs. Gladys Robertson, both of B?ham, a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Friday, 10 a.m. from Johns-Ridout?s Southside Chapel, Rev. George Slater and Rev. Earl Potts officiating. Interment Mr. Hebron Cemetery, Leeds, Ala. Active pallbearers; O.C. Cotney, Condry Pickle, Roy Massey, H.L. Busby, Marshall Busby and Ed Neal, Honorary pallbearers will be Men?s Bible Class of Irondale Baptist Church and Bushy Creek Hunting Lodge. Jons-Ridout?s, 2116 S. 8th Ave. directing.

H.R. Bass
Hilliard R. Bass, 500 78 Highway East, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at John-Ridout?s Southside, the Rev. Geroge Salter and the Rev. Earl Potts officiating. Burial will be at Mt Hebron Cemetery, Leeds.
He was a life-long resident of Jefferson County and veteran of World War I. Mr. Bass was a member of the Irondale First Baptist Church, a Mason and past master of Irondale Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Eastern Star 221 and Brushey Creek Lodge. Mr. Bass was a retired building contractor and was employed by Ingalls Iron Works.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva Neal Bass; a daughter, Miss Sarah Ann Bass, Birmingham; a brother, W.C. Bass, Homestead, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Lingo, Clay, Mrs. Mary Parker, Chicago, Mrs. Ruby Herring and Mrs. Gladys Robertson, both of Birmingham.
