Mary Ann Bass
VIROQUA ? Mary Ann Bass, 68, of Viroqua passed away Saturday morning, July 4, 2015, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua.
She was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Viroqua, to Ransom and Esther (Rood) Bass. The family farmed in the West Lima area, where she attended West Lima Schools, completing eighth grade. She made her home with her parents until her dad?s death in 2001, when she went to live at the Thelen group home. She had been a resident of the Bethel Home the past two weeks. Mary liked to cross stitch, color, and especially enjoyed being a mother hen to her many nieces and nephews.
Mary is survived by two brothers, Raymond (Sue) Bass of Bloom City, Arlen Bass of Janesville; two sisters, Sadie (Howard) Burch of Hillsboro, and Laura Bass of Kendall; other relatives and many friends .She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wayne and Ransom Bass III; and four sisters, Karen Grim, Ramona Downing, Maxine Thurow and Lorene Crouch.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Burial will be in Forest Burr Cemetery at rural Hillsboro. Friends may call from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
