Glenwood ?Cotty? Bass
Mr. Glenwood ?Cotty? Bass, 72, of 553 Cedar Lake Lane, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 21st with his family by his side.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23rd at 2:00 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel, 301 McKoy Street, Clinton, with Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born on July 22nd 1943 in Sampson County, Cotty is the son of the late William Bill Bass & Maggie Simmons Bass. He was a retired brick mason and was a hardworking man, who enjoyed working, fishing and spending time with his family. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Cotty is survived by his two daughters: Shannon Murphy & husband, Alan of Clinton; Doris Leah Trogdon of Blunts Creek; his two sons: Jonathan Glenn Bass & wife, Maggie; Chris Ammons & wife, Jacquie; and his sisters: Jean Martin and Nellie Denton, all of Clinton. Cotty was also blessed with seven grandchildren: Lindsey & Collin Ammons; Logan Bass, Bryron & Jeremy Tyndall, Ivey Jones & Noah Trogdon; and two great-grandsons. During his illness he was cared for by Barbara Mattocks, whom he loved dearly.
Cotty was preceded in death by two brothers: Jimmy Bass and Wilbert ?Jack? Bass and two sisters: Pauline Lee and Edna Simmons.
