Funeral services were held Friday, May 31, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Interment followed at Eternal Rest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Ron Baxly, Larry Holzkneck, Mark Williams, Charles Whitaker, Steve Holt, and Terry Bevis. Mr. Bass werved in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was owner of B and B Vinly and attended Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Jerry Carter of Alabaster, AL; two daughters, Cherly Bass Zamudio of Dublin, CA, and Mary Evelyn Leigh of Maylene, AL; nine grandchildren; one brother, Frank Bass of Oneonta, AL; and one sister, Sue Bass of Albany. Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
