Fith St. died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 1993, after two years declining health and five months critical illness. A native of Nash County, he was the son of the late James Oliver and Sarah Bennett Sykes Bass. He was owner of John Bass Linoleum & Tile, and a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, with Dr. E. Al Roberts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Minnie Morgan Oldham Bass; daughter, Mrs. Robert M. "Sarah" Brewer Sr. of Burlington; sisters, Mrs. Florine Brannon of Greensboro, Mrs. Virginia Register of Newport News, Va.; brother, Mr. Dwight Bass of Potlatch, Idaho. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Alamance/Caswell, 317 N. Graham-Hopedale Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217 or Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, 302 N. Logan St., Burlington, N.C. 27217.
