Rosa Bass Harris

Condolences are being expressed to the family of Mrs. Rosa Bass Harris, age 83, who passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Brian Center Southpoint.
Mrs. Rosa Odella Bass Harris, the daughter of the late Mr. Howard Samuel Bass and Mrs. Luthennie Hayes Bass was born in Person County, North Carolina on February 21, 1938.
At an early age, she professed a hope in Christ and joined Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful and supportive member. Rosa sang in the Inspirational and Senior Choirs, and she was also a member of the Missionary Circle. Rosa was educated in the Person County School District and was later employed by Duke University Medical Center and The Forest at Duke, retiring after many years of dedicated and loyal service.
Rosa was united in holy matrimony to Luster McNeil Harris on April 1, 1972, and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by one brother, Winslow Samuel Bass. Rosa leaves to cherish precious memories: husband, Luster McNeil Harris; one son, Luster Dion Harris (Nusly) of Durham, North Carolina; one daughter, Luthennie Michelle Harris of the home; one brother, Willie B. Bass (Margie) of Burlington, North Carolina; three cherished grandchildren, Malachi, Damari and Karly; one sister-in-law, Hattie Lucille Bass; one brother-in-law, Samuel Leo Harris (Ressie); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Public viewing for Mrs. Rosa Bass Harris will take place at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N Queen Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Homegoing services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rosa Bass Harris will take place on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church, 4688 Mount Harmony Church Road, Rougemont, North Carolina 27572, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Mrs. Rosa Bass Harris will be laid to rest in the Harris Family Cemetery.
