Miss Jean Bass And Joel H. Hall Married Last Night
Miss Alice Jean Bass and Joel Henry Hall were married last night at 8 o?clock in Florida Street Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. W.W. Hill, was assisted by Rev. R. L. McClusky, pastor of First Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Afterward, Mrs. Marlen Lee Bass Sr. of 1502 Glenwood Ave., the bride?s mother, received at home. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. Hall of 805 Gregory St., the bridegroom?s parents, were among the special guests. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Bass and the late Marlen Lee Bass.
The bride had Mrs. J.F. Layton Jr. for matron of honor. Mrs. Marlen Lee Bass, the bride?s sister-in-law, was a bridesmaid with Mrs. Edmond Foster of Randleman, Mrs. Douglas Murray and Mrs. S.M. Foy. Twelve-year-old Brenda Kay Miller of Florence, S.C. was junior attendant and 4-year-old Sandra Foster was flower girl.
Mr. Hall had his father for best man. The bridal brothers, Mr. Bass and D.C. Hall Jr., ushered with Robert Clarke of Newton.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Clyde E. Bass, wore a gown of white Chantilly lace over satin. The basque bodice had long sleeves and portrait neckline and the full skirt extended into a cathedral train. Her fingertip illusion veil was moulded to a lace bonnet trimmed with orange blossoms, pearls, and tulle. She carried a white orchid with white carnations and white roses.
Her attendants wore shrimp and turquoise lace and ne over taffeta with matching mitts and headpieces. They carried white callas and helloe fujimums.
After a trip to Florida the couple will ive at 1502 Glenwood Ave.
Mrs. Hall, who was graduated from Senior High School, is employed as a secretary at Wilsong & Miles Co. Mr. Hall, a Senior high graduate, is employed by Burlington Mills Corp.
