Miss Dorothy Bass Weds J.F. Layton
Mrs. Marlen Lee Bass, 3425 East Bessemer avenue, announces the marriage of her oldest daughter, Miss Dorothy Louise Bass, to John Franklin Layton, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Layton, 714 Holt avenue. The ceremony took place yesterday in York, S.C., before Judge E. Gettys Nunn. The couple were accompanied by the bridegroom?s sister, Miss Anna Meade Layton. The bride wore a green crepe wool dress with brown fur jacket and brown accessories.
Mrs. Layton was born in Greenville, S.C., but has lived here for 10 years, and is a graduate of Proximity high school. The bridegroom, a native of Greensboro, was graduated from Bessemer high school, and is employed by City Optical company. After a few days the couple will be at home with the bride?s mother.
