Neville Bassett
Fort Valley, April 11 – The death of Neville Bassett, thirty-two years of age, and member of a prominent Fort Valley family, occurred there Thursday. Mr. Bassett was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bassett and had been sick for many months. He was married in Chicago, Ill., five years ago to Miss Hazel A. Smith, and his wife and a three-year-old daughter, Frances Bassett, survive him; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bassett; one sister, Miss Lucy Bassett, and three brothers, Stephen and Noble Bassett and Lieutenant Ralph Bassett, now in France.
The funeral service took place Friday afternoon at the home in Fort Valley and the interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery, the Rev. W.F. Quillian, of the Methodist church, conducting the services. Young Mr. Bassett was a member of the Presbyterian church and was highly esteemed.
