Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, at Heritage Funeral Home with the Reverend Mitchell Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Huntersville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bass was born in Union County on March 24, 1928 to Oscar and Ollie Bass. He was retired from the City of Charlotte and spent much of his time fishing. He loved to visit with people, never meeting a stranger. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret. He is survived by a son, Danny Bass and wife, Elaine of Wesley Chapel; granddaughters, Donna Venanezio and husband, James and Angel Whitaker and husband, Scott, all of Waxhaw; brother and twin sister, Olin Bass of Morristown, TN and Betty Lou Townsend of Newton; and 3 great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1229 Greenwood Cliff, Charlotte, NC 28204. Arrangements for the Bass Family are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
