Bessette, 80, of 65 Clyde Ave., retired barber at the Friendly Barber Shop, West Springfield, and who formerly worked for the Boston & Albany Railroad, died Thursday in the Western Massachusetts Hospital, Westfield. Born in Canada, he lived in West Springfield 56 years and was a member of the Tatham Social Club. He leaves a son, Marcel of Agawam; two daughters, Fern Lemar of Paucatuck, Conn., and Ruth Fett of West Springfield; a brother, and sister, both of Canada; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home with burial in Paucatuck Cemetery.
