Bass-Trost (Includes wedding picture of Julie and David Trost)
Julie Dawn Bass and David Edward Trost were united in marriage in a 2 p.m. ceremony April 7, 1979, at Grace United Methodist Church.
The Rev. William Frazier officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack H. Bass of Carbondale are the parents of the bride.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Trost Jr. of Highland Park.
The bride wore a gown of sata lusta organza over taffeta trimmed with jeweled Chantilly lace.
Serving her as maid of honor was Jill Bass. Bridesmaids were Pam Smith, Linda Froeliger and Cheryl Echert. Flower girl was Laura Hyatt of Simpsonville, S.C.
Dr. and Mrs. Howard Hesketh provided the wedding music.
Groomsmen were Richard Mellien, Jim Trost, Michael Bass and Gerald Hilb. Ushers were John Trost, Alec Bass and Mike Webb, and the ring bearer was Billy Trost of Highland Park.
The newlyweds greeted guests at a reception held at the bride?s parents? home. They are at home now in Carbondale after a wedding trip to Florida.
The bride is a 1976 graduated of Carbondale Community High School.
The groom, a 1977 graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, is employed with Bert Baker in Benton.

Julie Dawn Trost
Marion- Julie Dawn Trost, 65, formerly of Carbondale, passed away at 4:48 PM, Friday, May 17, 2024 at her home.
Julie was born on September 14, 1958 in Champaign, IL to Jack H. and Shirley (Baltzell) Bass. She married her loving husband of 45 years, David Edward Trost on April 7, 1979 in Carbondale. He survives of Marion.
She was a graduate of Carbondale High School and received her nursing certificate from John A. Logan College. She worked many years at Integrity Nursing Home in Marion until her retirement on April 1, 2022.
She was a Methodist by faith and loved spending time with her family; especially baking and cooking with her beloved grandchildren. She was excellent at baking pies and her family loved it when she made their favorite comfort foods. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, gardening different varieties of wildflowers and collecting antiques. She and Dave loved RV camping and travelling to different locations in the southwest.
Survivors include her husband- David "Dave" Trost of Marion, sons- Daniel Joseph Trost and Devon Deming of Carbondale, Thomas Alan Trost and wife Nicole of Wheaton, IL and Steven Michael Trost of Marion; five grandchildren- Alexandria Trost of Wetumpka, AL, Paige Cole, River Bozarth, Dex Trost all of Carbondale and Jack Trost of Wheaton, IL; two brothers- Alec Bass of Herrin and Michael Bass and Christine of Lick Creek; sister- Jill Smith and husband Bruce of Marion. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Julie will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to McCluskie-Miller Funeral Home in Herrin.
