Susan Irwin Bass, age 66, of Crockett passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021. Susan was born May 24, 1955 in Palestine to parents, Arthur Eric Irwin and Elsie Raines Irwin. She received her business degree from Sam Houston State University. She worked at Davy Crockett Federal Savings and Loan for about 20 years where the customers and her coworkers loved her. Susan worked at Prosperity Bank in Grapeland and then in Crockett having a career in banking for 25 years. Before retiring she worked for Dr. Patrick Walker and Dr. Ray Morrison as the office bookkeeper. Susan was an extremely smart and personable lady. Susan is survived by daughters, Carey Powell and husband, Brandon of Jacksonville, Sara Lichty and husband, Erik of Flower Mound; grandsons, Hunter and Hudson Powell, Mason, Lane and Jude Lichty; brother, David Irwin and wife, Zoe of Palestine; nephew, Michael Irwin and wife, Rosalynn of Heath; niece, Robin Black and husband, Jason of Rockwall; great-nephews and great-nieces, Riley, Elise, Sofia, Karen, and Franco. Preceded in death by parents, A. E. and Elsie Irwin. Funeral services for Susan Bass will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Dwayne Thornton officiating.
