Services for Lankston Dale Bass will be at 12PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Lake Lilly Baptist Church, Jonesville, LA with Rev. Whit Bass and Bro. Eric Peyton officiating. Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service at 12PM, Tuesday, February 7th at the church. Interment will be at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Lankston Dale Bass, 90, of Jonesville, LA passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at his home. He was born September 28, 1932 in Jonesville to Budrow and Lilac Bass. He was an employee at Armstrong Rubber Company in Natchez, Mississippi for around 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Budrow and Lilac Bass; his precious daughter, Melodie Bass; brother, Budrow (Bud) Bass, who gave his life in Vietnam defending our Freedom; and his sister, Peggy Bass Stone of Baton Rouge, LA.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 71 years, Melvia Trisler Bass; sons, Lankston Dale Bass Jr. and wife Cindy of Jonesville and John Bass and Chrystal of Jonesville; grandchildren, Whit Bass and wife Michelle, Will Bass, Caleb Bass and wife Blake and Linsey Meyers Holloway and husband Jacob; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Bass Johnson and husband J.J., Hannah and Aaron Bass, Leslie Ford, Conor, Jasmine and Jade Bass, and Kinsley and Kailey Holloway; 6 great-great grandchildren, Slade and Drake, who are twins, Piper, Kenlie Chapman, Hadlie Chapmen and Jacie Ganey; 2 brothers, Charles E. Bass and Mark Bass and wife Alyene; sisters, Bobbie Calhoun, Georgia Bass, Dimple Cooper and husband Kenneth and Shelia Mayo and husband Everett; and a large host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Carl Pecanty, John Pecanty, Gary Stone, Eric Cooper, Jacob Holloway, Caleb Bass, Charles E. Bass Jr. and Mike Trisler. Honorary pallbearers will be Darren Cooper, Will Bass, Don Stone, Jason Stone, Robert Stone, Les Netherland, Jess Calhoun, Patrick Calhoun, Wayne Trisler, Conor Bass, Keith Bass, John Bass, J.J. Johnson, James Cockerham and Wes Bass.
