Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, with burial in Louin Cemetery in Louin. She was a retired caregiver and a member of Louin Baptist Church in Louin. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Bassett; two sons, Calley Bassett and James B. Bassett; three brothers; two sisters; and parents, C.T. Walker and Lorene Massey Walker. She is survived by a son, Randy Bassett of Louin; a daughter, Diane Sumrall of Warrenton, Virginia; a brother, the Reverend Jimmy Walker of Mendenhall; and two sisters, Mary Jewell Thornton of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Sally Dubose of Morton. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
