Betsy Jean Feild Bass
Betsy Jean Feild Bass, 89, of The Woodlands, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was born on July 29, 1924 in Longview, TX to Julia Elizabeth Shafer and Alexander Shaw Feild.
Betsy graduated from Marshall High School and received her BA and MA degree from the University of Oklahoma. She prided herself in being a life-long learner and had a sharp mind until her last breath. Betsy was a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of both the Sigma Delta Pi and Kappa Gamma Epsilon Honor Societies. She taught Spanish in the Norman Public School System in Norman, OK at Norman High School until they moved to The Woodlands, TX where she taught Spanish at McCullough High School until her retirement in 1988.
Betsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman C. Bass, and her son, Norman C. Bass, Jr. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Pujol and husband Eddy, Alec Bass and wife Mary, and Nita Covington. Grandchildren: John, Amy, Ashly, Natali, Alec, and James. Great-Grandchildren: Alyssa, Maddie, Austin, Penny, Liam, and Connor, and soon to arrive, Demi and Dex.
