Winslow-Bass united
Thomissa Carol Winslow and Walton Ray Bass were united in marriage September 25 in a 3 o?clock ceremony in Bethel Baptist Church, Hertford, N.C. Rev. Stanley Nixon officiated in the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Winslow, Jr. of Hertford.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Wilbur Ray Bass and the late Anne L. Bass of Hertford.
The bride is given in marriage by her parents wore a formal gown of pure silk satin and alencon lace. It featured a fitted bodice of hand beaded alencon lace, off the shoulder neckline with cap sleeves made of pearls. The full skirt was designed with European cut-out lace trimmed in sequins and pearls that extended into a cathedral train. Her veil of illusion was arranged from a wreath of pearls and silk roses.
Matron of honor was Amy Floyd of Tyner. Bridesmaids were Stacey Ward of Edenton, Darlene Baker of Four Oaks, Martha Anne Bass of Hertford, sister of the Groom, and Emily Bass of Hertford, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Kregan Winslow of Hertford, cousin of the bride.
Wilbur Ray Bass was best man for his son. Ushers were Wayne Bass of Hertford, brother of the groom, Brent Winslow of Hertford, brother of the bride, Kent Chappell of Hertford, and Dodd Floyd of Tyner. Junior Usher was Richard Bass of Hertford, brother of the groom.
Flower Girl was Fallon Winslow of Hertford, cousin of the bride, ringbearer was Michael Winslow of Hertford, nephew of the bride.
Mistresses of ceremony were Dianne Winslow, sister-in-law of the bride and Lynn Winslow, aunt of the bride, both of Hertford.
Wedding music was provided by Linda Long, organizst and Darryl Stallings, soloist.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Pocono Mountains the couple will make their home in Edenton.
COURTESIES
The couple was honored with a pool party and cook-out by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ward and Mrs. and Mrs. Wayland Burym. A Kitchen Shower was given by Mrs. Annie Lou Chappell, Mrs. Martha Hollowell, Miss Martha Ann Hollowell, and Miss Lu Ann Chappell. Miscellaneous showers were given by friends and relatives at Bethel and Belvidere. A Bridal Luncheon was given by Dianne Winslow and Lynn Winslow. A Buffet Supper at Soundview Restaurant was given by Mr. Wilbur Ray Bass.
