Wilbur Ray Bass
HERTFORD - Wilbur Ray Bass, 67, of White Hat Road, died Jan. 17, 2006.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Berea Church of Christ, Hertford. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, Edenton.

Wilbur Ray Bass
Wilbur Ray Bass, 67, of the 400 block of White Hat Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mr. Bass was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late Carey and Martha Anne Harrell Bass. Retired as a driver with Pet Dairy, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Lane Bass. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Sawyer Bass; two daughters, Martha Bass Nixon and husband, Chad, and Emily Bass Midgett and husband, Eddie, all of Hertford; three sons, Ray Bass and wife, Thomissa, of Edenton, Wayne Bass and wife, Heidi, and Richard Bass and wife, Krystal, all of Hertford; two stepdaughters, Jenneal Trueblood and husband, Tony, and Brianne Meads and husband, Buddy, all of Hertford; a stepson, Burke Perry and wife, Donna, of Hertford; two sisters, Christine Lamb of Edenton and Ima Jean Lane of Hertford; a brother, Willis Bass of Merry Hill; and 12 grandchildren, Lane, Gevin, Kyle, Samantha, Drew, Dylan, Ty, Carris, Caden, Larisa, Colton and Sawyer. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Berea Church of Christ by the Rev. Sonny Furrow and the Rev. Gary Mickey. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford. Friends may join the family today from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Edenton, and all other times at the residence. Miller Funeral Home, Edenton, is in charge of arrangements.
