Eldridge L. Bass
Eldridge L. Bass, 64, died Saturday at his residence in Monticello after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Hartman-Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello. Service will be at the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery.
A native of Monticello, Mr. Bass had been a resident of Long Beach and Gulfport for 18 years. He was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Stella R. Bass of Gulfport; two sons, Thomas E. Bass of Winchester, Tenn., and Henry B. Bass of Oxnard, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Freeman of Long Beach; a brother, Conn Bass of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Walker and Mrs. Neva Thames, both of Monticello; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society.
