Miss Florence Bass, 77, member of a family of pioneer Indiana educators, died late Thursday at her home here. She was born in Bartholomew county, near Columbus and came to Indianapolis in 1872. She was the daughter of Thomas W. and Mary Jane Bass. She was the author of ?Pioneer Stories? and a number of other books, widely used as supplementary text books in schools throughout the state. Survivors are five nieces and nephews.
