Horton Sr., of Colchester, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at The Vermont Respite House following a short illness. Born November 23, 1928 in Cohoes, New York, he is survived by his wife of 60 years L. Wilma (Bassett) Horton. Jim is also survived by his three children and their families - James Jr. and Pamela Horton of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; Laurie Horton Ose and Kevin of Colchester; Patrick Horton and Angela Friend of Colchester; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren - and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bud and Mary Ann Bassett of Concord, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. A private family ceremony will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McClure Miller Vermont Respite, 3113 Roosevelt Highway, Colchester, Vermont.
