He was a self-employed dry-cleaner for 51 years. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Dennis Harrell and Sam Warner. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Bass of the home; a sister, Naomi B. Wood of Myrtle Beach, Ore.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Home, P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, N.C. 28450-0127.
