DEATH & BUR.: Obituary: "Celia E. Bassett, 74, of 80 Wilson Ave., Blackfoot, passed away at the Bingham Memorial Hospital at 11:45 p.m. yesterday [Monday 10 Dec 1956] following a prolonged illness. She was born Aug 12, 1882 in Marsh Valley, Idaho, the daughter of Henry H. and Ellen Foster Woodland, early converts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. . . Her youth was spent in Marsh Valley where she met Leroy Bassett and they were married Nov 1, 1900 in Preston. He died Dec 23, 1937 in Blackfoot. They had resided at Soda Springs, Nampa, and Lava Hot Springs before making their home in Blackfoot 36 years ago. Surviving are three sons and three daughters: Andrew Bassett, Ouray, Colo.; Frank Bassett, Blackfoot; Ellis Bassett, Cinebar, Wash.; Mrs. Lionel P. (Mable) Madsen, Shelley; Mrs. Rulon (Louise) Gough, Blackfoot; Mrs. Morris N. (Sadie) Curtis, Yorba Linda, Calif. . . . Funeral services are planned for Thursday 2:00 p.m. Dec. 13, from the LDS Third Ward Chapel. . . Friends may call at the Sandberg Funeral Home. . ."
