Bascom Junior Bass, 12 February 2015
Mr. Bascom Junior Bass, 83, of Panama City, FL, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Covenant Hospice at Bay Medical. Born in Holmes County, FL, he moved here in 1961. He was retired from Bay District Schools Maintenance Department and was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. Mr. Bass was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bay County Sheriff's Auxiliary and was the founder of the Hiland Park Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 58 yrs., Georgia Bass of Panama City; three sons, Ray Bass of Panama City, Tim Bass of Orlando, Al Bass and wife Cathi of Tallahassee; one daughter, Frances Suggs and husband Leonard of Panama City; one brother, Glenn Bass and wife Linda of McDonough, GA; one sister, Annie Ruth Cook of Bonifay, FL; six grandchildren, April Poston and husband Adam, Alison Bass, Sara Perez and husband Justin, Morgan Bass, Hayden Bass and Henry Bass; three great-grandchildren, Logan Poston, Luke Poston and Leo Perez. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hiland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery with military honors accorded at graveside. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice or to the Hiland Park Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Junior Bass.
