  Notes	Find-a-Grave Obituary John W. King Sr. John William King Sr., 72, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1993, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1993, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Florence County Memorial Gardens. He was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Johnny and Vera Ivey King. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired as owner and operator of Shady Oak Grocery. He was a Baptist. His wife, Inez bass King, died in 1986. He is survived by three daughters, Gloria Carter of Mt. Pleasant, Sharon Gill of Garden City and Shawn Hudson of Effingham; four sons, John King Jr. of Lexington, Terry King of Darlington, Ralph King of Effingham and Thomas King of Florence; two sisters, Larene Miller and Grace Horne, both of Lake View; two brothers, Bill King of Lake View and Boyd King of Latta; and 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
