Ingrid Wesp Bass
FAIRMONT ? Mrs. Ingrid Wesp Bass, 83, of Fairmont, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at UNC Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Ingrid was born Oct. 28, 1938, in Darmstadt, West Germany.
Mrs. Ingrid was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved being at home taking care of her children and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Wesp and Dora Knobloch Wesp; her husband, James Alfred Bass; and three sons, Glenn Franklin Bass, Michael Alfred Bass and Stacy Phillip Bass.
She leaves to cherish her memories a son, James Stephen Bass of the home; a brother, Heimo Wesp and wife, Corneilla, of Jugenheim, Wet Germany; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rita Bass, and Mary Hollingsworth; two special friends, Millie Lee, and Margaret Byrd; also, a host of other family members and friends.
A time of visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at Baptist Church at Oakdale 1267 Oakdale Church Road, Fairmont, with Rev. Jackie Spillers officiating.
Interment will immediately follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont.
