He was born on May 15, 1943 to the late, Albert Bass and Gertrude H. Smith. He was a council member of the Nansemond Indian Nation and loved gardening. He is survived by his daughters, Brittany Bryant and her husband, Myles and Megan Bass and her fiance, Kyle Yelen; sister, Anne Bass; brothers, Sam Bass, Earl Bass and Steve Bass; and many other family members and friends. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Public viewing will be available from 3-6 PM Friday afternoon at the Sturtevant Funeral Home Portsmouth Blvd Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to the American Cancer Society.
