Mr. Bass died at 7:25 a.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon Chest Hospital at Mt. Vernon, where he had been a patient for four weeks. Born Sept. 1, 1914 at Sarcoxie. He was employed 21 years at Flex-O-Lators Inc in Carthage. He married Delores Coleman on May 6. 1961, at Miami, Oklahoma. She survives. Additional survivors include four sons, Leslie Bass of Sarcoxie, Everett Bass and Don Bass both of Diamond and Danny Bass of the home. A stepson Kenneth Coffey of Webb City. Two daughters, Mrs. Sue Strong of Wentworth and Miss Connie Bass of the home. Two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Cooper, Goodman and Mrs. Janice Howerton of Carthage. His Mother, Mrs. Mae Bass, Sarcoxie, a brother, Lee Bass, Carthage, two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Hirshey, Reeds and Mrs. Edna Patton, Sarcoxie. Eight grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial was in Powers Cemetery, southwest of Sarcoxie.
