  Notes	Albritton Funeral Directors Earl James Bass December 3, 1929 - February 25, 2015 TIFTON - Mr. Earl James Bass, 85, of Tifton, Georgia died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Gerald Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Grandsons Clayton Merritt, Scott Merritt, Jeffery Bass, Jr., Les Pate, Keith Pate, Cameron Revels and Robert Varela will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Bass was born December 3, 1929 in Forsyth to the late Jesse Carl Bass and Gladys Mae Jerrell Simpkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Erma Jean Ward Bass who died in 2007, a son, Darryl Keith Bass, a grandson, Bobby Beavers; and a son-in-law, Ira Merritt. Mr. Bass retired from the City of Pinellas Park, Florida. He was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved his church, his puppy ?Rusty? and attending Flea Markets. Mr. Bass is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Cheryl Lynn Boyd, Teressa Merritt and Donna and Lester Pate; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Roberts and Susan Bass and Jeffery and Brenda Bass, all of Tifton; one sister, Minnette Teague of Asheville, NC; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Valerie McKoon, Clayton and Jessica Merritt, Scott and Misty Merritt, Les and Ashley Pate, Keith and Samantha Pate, Summer and Cameron Revels, Shelly and Robert Varela, Jeffery and Leanna Bass, Jr., Amanda and Brent Clark and Jessica and Anthony Hayes; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea, P.O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793. Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
