Mrs. Joan Bass Morris

Mrs. Joan Bass Morris, 73, of Griffin, Ga., passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Spalding Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Morris was born on June 17, 1937, in Griffin, Ga., to the late D.J. Bass and the late Evelyn Daniel Bass. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Eugene Bass. Mrs. Morris was a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Harold E. Morris; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Mitch Hammond of Griffin, Lisa and Lamont Sudduth of Williamson; son, Scott Morris of Griffin; grandchildren, Lauren (Matt) Postell, Jordan (Brandi) Hammond, Hannah, Phillip Sudduth, Benjamin, Mary Grace, Anna and Sarah Morris; great-grandson, Brody Hammond; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Kay Bass, Phil and Deborah Bass; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lewis Stinchcomb; and special friend, Betty Dunn.
Memorial services for Mrs. Joan Morris will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Joan's son, the Rev. Scott Morris, and the Rev. Ron Laney will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 91, Griffin, GA 30224, in memory of Mrs. Morris.
