  Notes	The Birmingham News, Alabama, Friday, 12 Oct 1951 Robert S. Bass, 86, succumbs, funeral services announced Robert S. Bass, who was born in Jefferson County during the last year of the War Between the States, died last night at his hom in Leeds. The 86-year-old Mr. Bass never moved outside his native county. He was in the construction business until his retirement several years ago. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the First Prebyterian Church in Leeds. The Revs. Richard Johanson, T.L. Collins and John C. Calhoun will officiate. Burial will be in Poole Cemetery near Leeds. Ridout?s Valley Chapel will direct. Rites will be conducted at the graveside by members of the Leeds Masonic Lodge No. 440. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Willie Cobb and several nieces and nephews.
