Geraldine Ann Bass
Geraldine Ann Bass, 86, of Gardner, Kan passed away Aug. 9, 2019 at Olathe Hospice House. Cremation.
Geraldine was born Oct. 20, 1932 in Kansas City, Mo to Cyril and Marian (Burke) Brown. She had lived in Gardner for the past three years; before that she lived in Spring Hill. Geraldine worked at the Multi-Service Center as a librarian in Spring Hill and Gardner. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish. Geraldine belonged to the Gardner Book Club, had published a few books and had received a Writer?s Digest Honorable Mention Short Story Award. She always had a cat. Geraldine followed KU Basketball and Chiefs Football. She loved to garden especially raising flowers and vegetables. Geraldine will be missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ramona Brown. Geraldine is survived by her children: Amy and husband Scott Saia, Olathe, Kan, Catherine and Bryan Lappin, Lenexa, Kan and Marshall and wife Michelle Bass, Gardner, Kan; four grandchildren: Thomas Lappin, Rose Lappin, Julia Saia and Liam Saia; sisters: Patricia Underwood, Texas and Kathleen McPhilliamy,
Cremation. Visitation will be held 9:30 am Fri., Aug. 16, 2019. Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30 am all at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, 555 W. Main, Gardner, Kan. Inurnment follows the service at St. Columbia Catholic Cemetery, Gardner, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for the grandchildren of Geraldine Bass.
