Mrs. Anna Googe Bassett
Hampton, Jan. 1 ? (Special) ? Mrs. Anna Googe Bassett died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. C. Youmans in Moncks Corner after a short illness. Mrs. Bassett was 92 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon from the home of Mrs. R.A. Kinard at Fairfax. Committal services will follow at the graveside in the Googe cemetery.
Surviving are three sons, J.W. Bassett of Jacksonville, Fla., M.P. Bassett of Moncks Corner and H.G. Bassett of Miami, Fla.; five daughters, Mr. W.H. Dowling of Bishopville, Mrs. E.C. Youmans of Moncks Corner, Mrs. P.J. Craps of Estill, Mrs. R.A. Kinard of Fairfax and Mrs. P.J. Allan of Allendale; one brother, Luther Googe of Allendale; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is buried in the old Googe Cemetery just due east of the Fairfax Cemetery. Each of his wives is buried on either side of him. He served in Company F, 3rd South Carolina Cavalry, CSA. He was a Mason. His wives were sisters.
