Junior R. Pate, Sr.

Columbus, GA- Junior R. Pate, Sr. 81, of Columbus, GA died on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA., with Reverend James Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Edgewood Hall.
Mr. Pate was born on May 23, 1934 in Cusseta, Georgia to the late Eddie Ray Pate and Ethel Bassett Pate. In addition to his parents Mr. Pate was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lue Emma Rigsby Pate, brothers, Marion Edward Pate, and Royce (Judy) Pate, sisters, Evelyn (Harold) McHaffey, Betty (Larry) Neeley, and Mildred (James) Preston. Mr. Pate was a retired Steel worker with Pascoe (Hanson) Building. He was a member of East Side Assembly of God, and was a member of the Midland Masonic Lodge #144.
Survivors include his children: Martha (Michael) Hendrix of Cataula, GA, Diane Auston of Seale, AL, Shirley (Darin)Pate of Columbus, GA, and Junior R (Loretta) Pate, Jr. of Columbus, GA, one sister: Mary Ann (Charles) Edzel of Staton Island, NY, grandchildren: Michelle Hendrix, Christy (Timothy) Ellerbee, Angie (John) Viteri, Ronnie Shephard, Thomas Auston, Richard (Kellie) Hutchinson, Daniel Pate, and Emma Pate, great-grandchildren: Justin, Kayla, Ronnie, Jr., Brooke, Christopher, Whitney, Carey, Jessica, Taylor, Brad, Kinsey, Trey and Harleigh, great-great grandchildren:, Landyn, Christopher, Kyleigh, J.P., and Conner, and numerous other relatives and friends.
