  Notes	Find-a-Grave, October 14, 1971 P.F. Bass Retired Coal Miner, Dies Porter Philmore (Phil) Bass, 75, a retired coal miner, died Friday at his home on Dutch Valley Rd. at Oliver Springs Rt. 2. He has been ill for several years since suffering a stroke. A native of Kentucky, he had lived in East Tennessee since a small boy. He worked as a miner in several areas, including Wind Rock and for the longest period at Wesbourne in Campbell County. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, where services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Hayes Bass and the Rev. Clyde Kidwell Officiating. Burial was in Hoskins Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pasty D. Bass, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gardner of Cocoa Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Evelyn Lively of Oliver Springs, six sons, Paul, Clyde and Elgin Bass all of Oliver Springs, Willard Bass of Indiana, Porter Bass of Dayton, OH and Harry Lee Bass of Little Rock, AR, 16 grandchildren a three great-grandchildren, two sistgers, Mrs. Irene Adkins of Oliver Springs and Mrs. Bell Housely of Lafollette and a brother, John Bass of Oliver Springs. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Leedie Shepherd Bass and parents Abb (Marion) and Cassie (Kessie) Buck Bass. All are also buried at Hoskins cemetery.
