Robert was born on June 9, 1924 in Wayne County to the late Benjamin Bass and Lydia Jones Bass. Robert retired from the City of Raleigh where he worked in the Street Department. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2000 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park. Surviving: wife, Claudette Carter Bass; sister, Annie Laura Mandeline of Texas; brothers, Benjamin Hubert Bass of Gloucester, VA; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozelle Bass. The family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.
