John Bass Jr.
John (Jack) Arthur Bass, Jr., 79, of Wheeling, passed away at home, Thursday, June 10, 2021.
He was born in Wheeling, WV, on September 12, 1941, son of the late John Arthur Bass, Sr., and Sarah Adelaide Turner Bass.
Jack was a graduate of Wheeling High School and a member and current treasurer, administrative chair and trustee member at Ruble United Methodist Church in Wheeling. He was very outgoing and had a lot of friends. Jack enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, with a special soft spot for his grandchildren. He retired from Kroger as a union steward.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Oliver.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte Rothermund Bass; three children, Lisa Oliver and Chuck Parker, Mark (Colleen) Bass, and Susan (Michael) Thomas; a sister, Nancy Crall; eight grandchildren, Justin and Troy Oliver, Hannah, Tanner, and Garrett Bass, Skylar, Trent, and Erin Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday, June 13, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003 where services will be held Monday, June 14, 2021, at 11 am with Rev. Pat Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
