He was the owner of Dinwiddie Tire Company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Lewis Bass; one daughter, Miss Kathleen Gaye Bass; two sons, Michael Dean Bass and Millard Edward Bass Jr., all of Dinwiddie; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Neville of Dewitt, Mrs. Kathleen Branch of Dinwiddie and Mrs. Janie Moore of Colonial Heights; one grandson, Jason Zachary Bass of Dinwiddie. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 A.M. at the graveside at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dinwiddie County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Dinwiddie Rescue Squad or Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church. Remains rest at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. The family will receive friends at the residence.
