Pat Bass Prince
Mrs. Patricia Joyce Bass Prince, age 81, of Franklin passed away July 17, 2026.
Her funeral will be held Monday July 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Franklin First Baptist Church with Dr. Andrew Owensby officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin City Cemetery.
The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Prince was born February 1, 1945 in Troup County to the late George Wilson Bass and Essie Mae Traylor Bass.
She was an active member of Franklin First Baptist Church and loved her church family. In earlier years she devoted her time to working in the nursery and participating in weekly Wednesday Night Activities. She always ensured that her family was raised in church.
She was a very independent lady and worked hard to provide for herself and her family. She worked many years at Bowdon-Bremen Investments (BBI) before finding a new career in the Heard County School System as a lunchroom worker. She exhibited a tough as nails attitude when she won her battle against breast cancer.
Above all, she adored her family and would do anything for them. She spent as many precious moments with them as she could. She lovingly gave of her time while her grandchildren were growing up to watch after them. Her home was always filled with love. She also saved a soft spot for her favorite chihuahua, Woody, who has been a beloved companion for the last 16 years.
A TV show she watched almost every week was ?WWE Friday Night Smackdown?, which was one of her late son??, Bobby?s, favorite shows. They watched it together; a tradition Miss Pat carried on after Bobby passed away. It was one of the ways she kept a connection to him in her later years.
Survivors include: a daughter, Gail Prince Long of Franklin; grandchildren: Taylor McMillan, Cameron Long, and Jennifer Prince; a great-grandchild, Cassidy Prince; and a number of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Prince, and two brothers, Wilson Bass and Gerald Bass.
