Tommie Lou Bass Goodroe
Mrs. Tommie Lou Bass Goodroe, 77, of Newnan, Ga., died Aug. 21, 2006, at Savannah Court. She was born Dec. 17, 1928, to the late Walter William and Lera Ozell Morgan Bass. Her husband, William Gene Goodroe, preceded her in death. Mrs. Goodroe was a seamstress and had worked for International Playtex for 40 years. She is survived by a son, Bill Bass, and his wife, Jill, of Little Rock, AR, and their son, Adam. Her daughter is Angela Brown of Angier, NC, and Angela has a daughter, April Turk. There are 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Joe Bass and his wife, Brenda, of Sharpsburg and Carl Bass of North Carolina. Her nephew is Derek Bass. Her extended family of sisters-in-law includes Barbara Marshburn, Hazel Goodroe, Letha Goodroe; brother-in-law, Maurice Goodroe and his wife, Joyce. Funeral services are under the direction of McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson St. in Newnan where the family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at graveside Friday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. with Danny Wilson officiating. It was Mrs. Goodroe's request that flowers be omitted and any memorial contributions be made to either Countryside Hospice, 37 Calumet, Suite 202, Newnan, GA 30263, or the the Building Fund of Unity Baptist Church, 311 Smokey Road, Newnan, GA 30263.
