Bass was a member of Third Baptist Churhc, Fraternal Order of Police, Arkansas Municipal Police Association, American Association of Retired Persons, and was an Army veteran of World War II. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Atkinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Pat Titsworth. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Pinecrest Cemetery, Mena. Survivors are his wife, Olarhea Bass; a son, Melvin L. Bass of North Little Rock; two stepsons, E.W. Ramage of Oden and Thomas English of Malvern; a stepdaughter, Norma Dee White of Malvern; a brother, Jesse Bass of Levanon, Ore.; two sisters, Fannie Wiley of Thermal, Calif., and Pat Brown of Hot Springs; and 10 grandchildren.
