  Notes	Observer, Adelaide, SA, Saturday, October 15, 1927 Mr. William John Horace Bassett Mr. William John Horace Bassett, who died on Sunday at Lyndoch road, Gawler East, was a well-known resident of Gawler. Born at Bassett Town, Gawler, 64 years ago, he was educated at St. George?s School. He entered business as a saddler, and carried on his trade for many years in Murray street. For some time he was a councillor in the Gawler Corporation, and a member of the committee of the Gawler Agricultural Society. About 13 years ago he was appointed district clerk for the Barossa Council, a position he held up to the time of his death. Mr. Bassett was a prominent Freemason, and was a Past Worshipful Master of the Lodge of Fidelity, Gawler. He leaves a widow and one brother, Mr. Fred Bassett, of Rose Park.
