Deborah Bassett, Terry Reed Say Vows In Macon Ceremony
Miss Deborah Ann Bassett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Bassett of Macon, formerly of LaGrange, Georgia, became the bride of Terry William Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton W. Reed, of Gainesville, on June 5, at Bloomfield United Methodist Church in Macon.
Reverend Mike McAfee, Assistant Pastor of Mulberry United Methodist Church in Macon, performed the ceremony. Miss Camm Thomas, organist, rendered a program of wedding music.
Mr. Mike Holland of Atlanta, was the groom?s best man.
The groomsmen were Mr. Leonard Cagle of Gainesville, Mr. David Wallace of Dawsonville, and Mr. Bill Early of Gainesville. Master Grady Lee Anderson of Atlanta, cousin of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Mrs. Michael W. Long, of Macon, was the matron of honor. The maid of honor was Miss Sharon Adams of Atlanta.
The bridesmaids were Miss Lexie Bush and Miss Beth Mitchell, both of Atlanta, Miss Kathy Reddish of Thomasville. cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.
The bride?s attendants were attired in identical formal gowns of blue silk organza posed over vassar ribbon satin. They wore blue straw picture hats and carried baskets of multicolored spring flowers.
Miss Tonya Reed, niece of the groom, was the flower girl and wore a formal blue silk gown similar to the other attendants. A French maid?s hat with a bow and streamers completed her ensemble and she carried a basket of daisy petals. Master Randy Gilliland, cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was radiant in a gown of double faced satin with appliques of French lace trimmed with seed pearls. Designed and made by the bride?s smother, the bridal gown featured a sweetheart neckline with full bishop sleeves caught into long pointed cuffs. Her A-line skirt swept into a full cathedral train. Her veil of silk illusion was held by a cap of matching satin, French lace and seed pearls. Her bouquet was a cascade of Butterfly orchids on a white Bible.
Mrs. Richard H. Bassett, mother of the bride, wore a gown of blue crepe with matching accessories. Her corsage was of white glamellias.
The mother of groom, Mrs. Alton W. Reed, was attired in a formal gown of mint green crepe with matching accessories and her corsage was of white glamellias, also.
Following the ceremony, the bride?s parents entertained the wedding guests at a reception held in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
Mrs. Leonard Cagle of Gainesville, kept the Bride?s Book while Miss Vanette Kirkland, Miss Christy Major, Miss Ann Redd, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Ronnie Reddish, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake and punch.
Following the reception, the couple left for their honeymoon at an undisclosed location. For traveling, Mrs. Reed chose and aqua A-line dress, featuring a wide belt, with white accessories. The Butterfly orchids from her bridal bouquet formed her corsage.
After the wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Reed will make their home in Athens, where they will continue their studies at the University of Georgia.
