Mildred Louise Preston

Columbus, GA- Mildred Louise Preston, 80, of Columbus, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born May 23, 1934 in Chattahoochee County to her late parents Eddie and Ethel Bassett Pate. Mrs. Preston had retired from St. Francis Hospital where she was in Environmental Services. She was a member of East Side Assembly of God and had a passion for her family.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, one hour prior to a 2:00 PM Celebration of Mildred's Life Service, followed by a Committal Service at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Strickland officiating.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Preston is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, James Louis Preston; two sisters, Evelyn Mahaffey of Columbus, GA, and Betty Neely of Missouri; two brothers, Royce Pate and Edward Pate both of Columbus, GA. She is survived by her daughter Tammy Cruz (William Reynolds) of Columbus, GA; two sons, Bobby Gene Preston of Atlanta, GA, and Donald Louis (Lisa) Preston of Columbus, GA; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Kiley Elizabeth Preston of Columbus, GA; twin brother, J.R. Pate, and one sister, Mary Ann Pate of North Carolina.
