Alice Katherine Bass Ingolia
Katherine B. Ingolia, Age 86, passed into eternal life surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
She was born on April 29, 1928 in Galveston, TX. Katherine lived in Opelousas and New Orleans, LA before settling in Parsippany in 1957.
She was the daughter of the late Gustavus and Sarah Katherine (nee-Caldwell) Bass. Katherine was a graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA and worked as an R.N. prior to her marriage to the late Joseph J. Ingolia Jr. whom she married on October 30, 1948.
Katherine was an avid gardener and an amazing cook. She enjoyed many years of traveling with her family. She was a lifelong Jets and Mets fan.
The family would like to thank the staff of the VNA of Northern New Jersey and a special thank you to the outstanding care and companionship of her caregiver Samantha.
Katherine was also pre-deceased by her son, Joseph J. III who passed away on 1/13/2009.
She was the loving mother of Cecilia Rivera (Carlos), Susan Bevacqua (William) and mother-in-law of Mary Ellen. She leaves 9 adoring grandchildren: Freddy Braun (Geovanna), Anneliese Tartell (Scott), Tony Rivera, Alicia Rivera-Hall (Dave), Helen Moreau (Shane), Kristin Jackson (Ryan), Michael Bevacqua, Jason Bevacqua and Nicole Bevacqua (Jon). In addition, she leaves 7 great-grandchildren: Christina Braun, Alex Braun, Brandon Schuld, Nicholas Tartell, Kaeleigh Tartell, Peyton Hall and Aaron Moreau. She also leaves several dear nieces, nephews, friends and her special companion, Licorice.
